CHARLIGHTON - also known as the False Charizard, is a rare example of Batesian Mimicry amongst pokemon.  Not able to breathe fire, it has a tongue that imitates a flickering flame. Two fins on its back represent the wings of charizard, and though they can fold up and down, it can’t actually fly (it can jump like crazy, though), while the tail fins mimic fire at the end of charizard’a tail. Pokemon, though very intelligent in some ways, aren’t very hard to trick - in the wild only a cursory glance is used to size up potential rivals. Charlighton is technically a psychic type, but without any psychic abilities; it’s focus is on trying to psyche out its opponent, tricking them into thinking its much more dangerous than it actually is. The lack of blue on this mimic’s fake wings has lead some biologists to theorize that the blue wings on charizard may be a relatively recent mutation that caught on and Charlighton has yet to fully copy. What did this pokemon evolve from? Can you guess?  It’s actually an alternate evolution of pokemon 129.
